Chris Crookall is a graduate from Lancaster University at Edge Hill, where he studied Film Studies with Film & TV Production. Chris started working as a production runner on Hollyoaks and found his niche in editing. After working at Jack-All Productions as the main editor for corporate and promotional videos, he moved into Broadcast.
Chris started out as the 1st Assistant Editor on a variety of TV dramas Close to the Enemy, Stan Lee's Lucky Man, Jamestown, Moving On, Snatch and more. Chris then made the transition into being a 1st Assistant Editor in Film. He has been 1st Assistant Editor on Fox Searchlight's Tolkien and has been working as assistant/archive editor on Film4 & MGM's Fighting with my Family and 1st assistant editor on FOX Searchlight's Tolkien, a job taking him to cut rooms in Helsinki, Finland for 3 months.
Now Chris has moved into editing TV drama, having cut on 3 series of BBC Drama Moving On, in which his series won RTS award for 'Best Daytime Series', Chris has edited on the new BBC One comedy-drama Pitching In, 5 star's women's prison drama Clink and has been the additional editor on Stephen Poliakoff's latest epic mini-series Summe of Rockets starring Timothy Spall and Keeley Hawes.
Chris's has recently been working on the final episode of a 6 part BBC adaptation of Man Booker Prize-winning novel 'The Luminaries' for Working Title Television. His latest work can be seen on BBC iPlayer for the latest series of Jimmy McGovern's 'Moving On' and The Luminaries.
Chris has recently been attached as the Editor to Jo Lewis's feature documentary 'OWEN', the story of Canadian Pro Wrestler; Owen Hart.
Chris is a member of the BGFTE (British Guild of Film and Television Editors) and is a member of the BAFTA Crew 2017/2018/2019.
